Our Mission & Story<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our mission is to connect people with nature by providing information and inspiration to backpackers, hikers, and campers of all skill levels. We are committed to making outdoor recreation easier, safer, and more enjoyable for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CleverHiker was created in 2012 by lifelong backpacker Dave Collins. He had recently completed a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail and he wanted to share his knowledge and experience with other adventurers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dave started with two tutorial video series but soon expanded to include in-depth gear reviews<\/a> and trip guides<\/a>. Today, CleverHiker is the foremost resource for information on backpacking, hiking, and camping. With hundreds of articles and videos, there is something for everyone, from first-time campers to experienced thru-hikers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
